ALP and GTA England announce joint membership

Monday, 20 December 2010 00:00

alpfinal
Members of GTA England will automatically become part of the Association of Learning Providers (ALP) from next year as the government hones its focus on public-private learning partnerships.

GTA England, which is linked to 15,000 employers as a representative of Group Training Organisations in the country, is recognised as a vital resource in the Apprenticeship market, complementing the 290 provider members of ALP.

"GTAs are ideally positioned to help the government achieve its ambition for more apprenticeship places to be offered by SMEs," said GTA England interim CEO Steph Whalley.

"With many ALP members also engaged with smaller local employers, it is right that both GTA England and ALP should be working together to share expertise and best practice that will grow the programme."

ALP chief executive Graham Hoyle said: "As the coalition government has made the apprenticeship programme the bedrock of its new skills strategy, it is more important than ever that apprenticeship providers are speaking with the same voice."
