From education to employment

Last call for education start-up bursaries

Education charity Jisc is calling on FE and HE technology start-ups to apply before its Friday deadline for bursaries aimed at boosting innovative products.

Five companies with less than ten employees will be given the opportunity to showcase their products and services at Jisc’s inaugural Digital Festival on 11-12 March.

They will be given free exhibition space at the event in Birmingham, which will focus on future trends that will impact education and research.

Andrew McGregor, deputy chief innovation officer at Jisc, said: “One of the most exciting things about the Jisc Digital Festival is the sheer diversity of people who will attend; people from a variety of higher and further education institutions and commercial organisations with many different roles and titles.

“This makes this bursary a fantastic opportunity for educational technology start-ups to meet potential customers and network with experts in digital technology. Jisc’s role is to use digital technology to improve education and research so the chance to meet and support people who have established companies that are seeking to use technology in new, exciting ways is always an intriguing prospect.”
