From education to employment

Ofsted launches FE and skills rating tool for employers

Ofsted has launched an online tool for employers to rate FE and skills providers as it calls on businesses to get more involved in the training of their staff.

Called Employer View, the site lets companies comment on providers inspected by Ofsted on a confidential basis.

This includes providers of apprentices and work experience or work placement staff.

Lorna Fitzjohn, Ofsted’s national director for further education and skills, said: “The tool will inform inspectors’ understanding of the effectiveness of provision, increase employers’ engagement in education and training, and help them and employees to choose the provider that is right for them.”

It uses the same model as Learner View, launched in September 2012 to enable learners to register their views on the provision of FE and skills providers.
