Jaine Bolton UK Official Delegate for International Skills Competitions discusses how the NAS and SFA will work together on the annual UK skills competition

Jaine Bolton, from the National Apprenticeship Service and the new Official UK Delegate for WorldSkills, reflects on how Team UK performed in London 2011.

Team UK won five gold medals, two silver, six bronze and 12 medallions of excellence. The medal haul ranked Team UK fifth in the world and only one point away from joint-fourth with Brazil – the best result that Team UK has ever achieved. With the medal haul, world ranking and approximately 200,000 people visiting WorldSkills London 2011, there was a lot to celebrate and reflect upon.

FE News catches up with Bolton the morning after the closing ceremony. Click on the video below to hear about the legacy of the annual competition with the joint collaboration of the National Apprenticeship Service and the Skills Funding Agency.
