> SLIC Training, an East Midlands based training provider offering training, assessment and consultancy in a wide range of vocational areas, has credited leading awarding body and assessment specialist EDI with helping it win a training award.

The company, which has been working with EDI since April 2008 to provide training courses across a wide range of sectors including food and hospitality, business administration, customer service and health and social care, has been awarded with a Best Company award.

Ian Benison, chief executive of SLIC Training, says: "EDI has been incredibly supportive with working with us and they provide us with an extremely quick turnaround of certificate requests. The extended product set that EDI has enables us to offer a full range of courses and training sessions. We are so pleased with EDI that we are currently seeking more approval to offer further EDI courses to meet growing demand."

Gareth Phillips, director of business development at EDI, comments: "In the current economic climate, training and retraining is being pushed to the top of the business agenda, as companies ensure that their staff has competent and flexible skill sets. We’re seeing a growing demand for courses offered and a dramatic increase in take up numbers."

Since its inception in 2008, SLIC Training has quickly established many industry links, and is fast becoming one of the leading training providers for the East Midlands region.
