Appskil to upskill Mobile App Developers

South Eastern Regional College in partnership with South West College held a two day training programme for teachers and IT professionals from the UK, Belgium, Italy and Spain as part of the Appskil project. Through the project the consortium have been developing a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) aimed at mobile app developers and ICT employees that need up-skilling to respond to the needs of the fast growing mobile app sector. The course is also available to trainers who want to integrate modules into existing training programmes. Appskil is funded by Erasmus+ which is supported by the European Commission.

Lewis Shines at Hospitality Student of the Year Competition

Hospitality student Lewis Robertson was named runner-up in the NI Regional Colleges Hospitality Student of the Year 2017 competition which was hosted by Southern Regional College. Lewis is studying level 3 professional cookery at Bangor campus, specialising in Patisserie and Confectionary.

Sparks fly as SERC first college to receive welder training certification

Renowned for working closely with industry to generate real business benefits, South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is delighted to announce that they have received certification from TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL), part of The Welding Institute, to offer specialist coded welder training. SERC is currently the only TWI CL certified provider within Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and is the first college in the province to receive the accreditation.
