The resources, support and industry information in South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is vast and while students benefit from this on the daily basis, the College has decided to share key information and tips from out expert and experienced staff and partners, with the wider community. The College has launched “SERC Connect” a new podcast series showcasing the work of the College providing free information and tips to help business owners, community groups and individuals.
A visit to S_ERC’s Open Day has led Cormac McConvey, Level 3 Technical Extended Diploma in Media student and presenter on Lisburn’s 98FM and Bangor FM, to national airwaves through the BBC’s Under 25 Season where the young aspiring broadcaster co-hosted a show on BBC Radio Ulster along with veteran broadcaster, Kerry McLean recently.
@S_ERC South Eastern Regional College (SERC) English Language Lecturer Tom Le Seelleur, has taken the role of interim leader for the Island of Ireland (IOI) branch of the National Association for Teaching English and Other Community Languages to Adults (NATECLA). NATECLA is the national forum and professional organisation for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teachers. Speaking of his career that has led to this point, Tom said “I have attended many conferences relating to English language teaching which has complemented my expertise in this area. In addition, in the United Arab Emirates, I was an active member of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Arabia and led a national campaign to create a reading culture with workshops, conferences, a roadshow and magazine.”
