From education to employment

SCL EDUCATION GROUP ACHIEVE CYBER ESSENTIALS PLUS AS PART OF THEIR ONGOING COMMITMENT TO THEIR STAFF AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

SCL Education Group, an education and training provider with 20+ years’ experience in the world of sport, have announced that they have achieved the coveted Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed and industry-supported scheme that helps businesses protect themselves against the growing threat of cyber-attacks, providing a clear statement of the measures we have in place to make our business secure.

This certification project is one of many on SCL’s future roadmap which forms part their ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, customer experience and making SCL a great place to work.

It is the UK Government’s answer to a safer internet space for organisations of all sizes, across all sectors. Developed and operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Cyber Essentials is considered the best first step to a more secure network, protecting businesses from 80% of the most basic cyber security breaches.

Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest level of certification offered under the Cyber Essentials scheme. It is a more rigorous test of an organisation’s cyber security systems, where ethical hackers test the strength of IT infrastructure by carrying out ‘vulnerability tests.’

A seven-month long project, SCL Education Group invested significant time and money into ensuring its stored data is protected. The overhaul also included brand new servers and a renewal of company laptops and phones across the business, to ensure complete compliance and security.

SCL Education Group’s Finance Director, Martin Ridgeway, said:

“Whilst we are not required to carry such a high-level cyber security kitemark, the SCL Education Group Board wanted to demonstrate to all stakeholders including funders, employers, learners and team members how seriously we take the safety of our IT environment.

Thank you to the fantastic work of Avi Kana, our Head of IT, Adcomm, our IT service provider and our internal IT team, which means that we can showcase our ongoing commitment to protecting our data. It really is a fantastic achievement for us, and I hope this instills confidence in everyone who works with us as to how seriously we take their online security.”
