This seminar will provide a timely opportunity to discuss the next steps for England’s examination...

    • It follows the recent Government response to the primary assessment consultation, comes with ongoing GCSE and A-Level reform and takes place in light of the 2015 Pisa results which ranked the UK 27th for Maths, 22nd for Reading and 15th for Science following international testing of 15 year olds.

Stakeholders, policymakers and regulators will also assess the developing role of technology in assessment and exams - looking at its potential impact on examiners and teachers workloads, measures that can be taken to ensure its effectiveness in delivery and how it might need to evolve.

Further sessions focus on examination marking, following Ofqual’s announcements of further changes to come for the moderation of GCSEs, A-Levels and AS Levels.

Delegates will consider steps that can be taken to attract high quality and experienced examiners, measures that can be taken to improve consistency and the place of e-marking in the system.
