  • Overview

To be able to accurately self-assess and improve your provision is vital for any organisation. This workshop enables participants to explore features of the Common Inspection Framework (CIF) 2015 that will further improve their understanding of how the CIF is applied during inspection. It will also include a practical activity on what to write and not write in your self-assessment report (SAR). Two of these sessions will be led by an Ofsted HMI.

The workshop includes information on how to:

    • develop a self-assessment practice that leads to improvement

    • identify the key characteristics of effective self-assessment and evaluation of your provision according to the CIF 2015

    • write a judgement-rich, learner-centred self-assessment report (please bring a hard copy of your SAR to the workshop)

    • develop a 48-hour short notice inspection plan on how to proceed once a notification of inspection is received

    Feedback from previous Workshops

"This was exactly what I hoped it would be - very informative so I now know what to do; before today I felt lost. Now I have a plan! Thank you!"

"Really good insight into what Ofsted's requirements are in terms of SAR production. Informative, involving and well-paced."

"This has generally been the best AELP event workshop that I have attended. Lots of food for thought."

"SAR is perhaps the most important, useful and memorable training I have had in my quality role"
