Supporting Entry Level Functional Skills in maths and English

January 28 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Supporting Entry Level Functional Skills in maths and English

Maths and English success for learners at Entry 1, 2 and 3 is a vital foundation to ensure confident progression and the opportunity to flourish and progress.

Initial and Diagnostic assessment with English and maths often reveals significant gaps in learner ability that, unless effectively supported, will stop the confident development of vital life skills that are necessary to support career progression.

The achievement of maths and English at Level 2 is a legal entitlement for all adults, but all too often the attainment of Level 2 does not focus on securing the core and foundational set of knowledge and skills required to be really successful. Effective support for Entry Level maths and English is an essential process that needs to be properly planned. This interactive workshop will explore the requirements for Entry Level Functional English and maths across all components.

  • The skill and knowledge assessment requirements for the Entry 1, 2 and 3 Functional Skills English across each component;
  • Managing spelling expectations;
  • The skill and knowledge assessment requirements for the Entry 1, 2 and 3 Functional Skills maths across each component;
