DESCRIPTION:About the event \n\n\n\nThe National Careers Event (Skills Show Wales) in Cardiff\, is the perfect event for school and college students from year 10+ as well as young adults to find out more about apprenticeships at all levels as well as the educational pathways available to them.\n\n\n\nTaking place at Cardiff City Stadium (Cardiff City FC) in Cardiff this event welcomes visitors and exhibitors from the Wales Region including all of Wales\, Bangor\, Cardiff\, Newport\, St Asaph\, St Davids\, Swansea\, and Wrexham. \n\n\n\nBe there. Be inspired!\n\n\n\nOur events bring together thousands of Students aged 15+ from schools\, sixth forms & colleges\, parents\, guardians & individuals together with Top UK Employers\, Universities\, Colleges & Training Providers. Our events provide those all-important face-to-face conversations in a fun and interactive setting. \n\n\n\nTeachers and Careers Leaders of age 15+ Students \n\n\n\n\nYour students will meet businesses face to face; discover apprenticeships & how to  access apprenticeship programmes as well as other career routes into work.\n\n\n\nYour students will get up to date careers advice and guidance on a wide range of future career paths.\n\n\n\nYour students will get the opportunity to engage with universities\, colleges\, top UK employers & training providers.\n\n\n\nYour students will be able to access information on future study options.\n\n\n\nYour students can discover career opportunities and work experience placements.\n\n\n\n\nAged 15+\n\n\n\nAre you leaving school\, sixth form or college?\n\n\n\nWhat are your options?\n\n\n\n\nWhich University?\n\n\n\nDo you need apprenticeship advice? Learn more about intermediate to degree level!\n\n\n\nWhat’s a T-Level?\n\n\n\nHow does an apprenticeship work with a training provider?\n\n\n\nWhat can the regional colleges offer you?\n\n\n\n\nParents and Guardians of a child\, or children\, aged 15+\n\n\n\nAre they leaving school\, sixth form or college?\n\n\n\nDo you need to find out more about what comes next?\n\n\n\nThere’s a lot to discover – all visitors attend our regional events for FREE and get the opportunity to engage with both national and regional businesses to find out more about all career options and pathways available to them. SUMMARY:Governance – Establishing an Effective Board
DESCRIPTION:Ineffective governance has been one of the most commonly occurring Ofsted criticisms of providers deemed to be ‘Inadequate’ or who ‘Require Improvement’. \nAt this important workshop delegates will consider: \n\nthe different models of governance that exist in Post-16 education\nthe traits of an effective board\nterms of reference\, agenda and the importance of good minute writing\nthe importance of independent scrutiny challenge and support\nhow you ensure that your Board has the right skills/knowledge mix\n\nThe seminar is for apprenticeship and other education and skills providers who are looking to establish (or re-establish) an effective governing board.  As part of the resource pack\, delegates will be given a draft terms of reference\, a skills matrix tool and a minuting template. \nThe focus of the seminar will be on the governance of training providers delivering apprenticeship and other DfE funded activity.
