SUMMARY:Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice
DESCRIPTION:This Level 4 accredited qualification is designed to develop delegates practical quality assurance skills helping them to become effective quality assurance practitioners in a range of Post-16 contexts both in the workplace and in the classroom.  This course covers both ‘Internal Quality Assurance’ and ‘Lead Quality Assurance’ roles.\n\nWe anticipate that delegates will already be working in post-16 education as a teacher/ trainer/assessor or coach. Delegates may have a strong vocational background and some will have moved into teaching/ assessing as a secondary career.\n\nThrough participation in this important strand of the Solvendis Teaching Excellence programme you will complete three modules to help you develop and craft your assessment skills.  These modules require 3 days of taught sessions and then for delegates to gather evidence from their own professional practice before returning to a 1:1 portfolio review.\n\nDelivery is made up of 3 mandatory modules as follows:\n\n 	Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of\nAssessment\n 	Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment\n 	Plan\, allocate and Monitor Work in Own Area of Responsibility\n\nTotal attendance time is 3 days of delivery and then a separate 1:1 session once all evidence has been gathered and submitted.\n\nDates of attendance are:\n\n 	\n8\, 15 & 22 september 2026 (10.00 – 4.00)\n\nAll delegates must have access to a suitably qualified mentor who can offer advice\, support and guidance during the practical application and portfolio creation.

SUMMARY:Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
DESCRIPTION:This Level 4 teaching qualification is designed to develop delegates practical teaching skills helping them to become effective teachers in a range of Post-16 contexts. We anticipate that delegates will already be working in post-16 education as a teacher/ trainer/ assessor or coach.  Delegates may have a strong vocational background and will have moved into teaching as a secondary career.\n\nPractice requirement:  There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of professional practice for this qualification\n\nPerformance requirement:  As part of the course you will complete 6 written assignments and a portfolio of evidence.  The portfolio will require you to complete a minimum of 3 different observed taught sessions\, each observation MUST be 30 minutes or longer\, and the total combined time of all observations must be longer than 3 hours.  You can to do more than 3 observations if you do not meet all criteria in the 3 observations or the required 3 hours\, but the minimum number of observations is 3.  These observations should be spread across the course to allow for incorporation of feedback/ development targets in the subsequent observations.  These observations will be carried out by a suitably qualified mentor that you will need to be able to provide before joining the course.  All observations must be in person.\n\nMentor requirements:  Your suitably qualified mentor must be able to demonstrate current evidence of CPD in assessment and:\n\n 	Hold a teaching/training qualification at level 4 or above.\n 	Hold an assessor qualification at level 3 or above which includes assessment in the workplace\n\nThere will be 9 Workshops (all 10.00—4.00) which will be held on Fridays. The topics to be covered and workshop dates are:\n\nWorkshop 1 – 18/09/2026 Introduction to learning\nWorkshop 2 – 02/10/2026 Planning to meet individual learner needs\nWorkshop 3 – 16/10/2026 Delivering education and training (Pt 1)\nWorkshop 4 – 23/10/2026 Delivering education and training (Pt 2)\nWorkshop 5 – 06/11/2026 Progress checking and showcasing\nWorkshop 6 – 20/11/2026 Assessment in learning\nWorkshop 7 – 27/11/2026 Learning resources\nWorkshop 8 – 11/12/2026 Inclusive practice (Pt 1)\nWorkshop 9 – 10/12/2026 Inclusive practice (Pt 2)\n\nIn addition to workshop attendance\, delegates will undertake a short pre-course activity\,\nindependent research\, complete assignments and be observed on at least 3 occasions\n\n
