SUMMARY:Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
DESCRIPTION:This Level 4 teaching qualification is designed to develop delegates practical teaching skills helping them to become effective teachers in a range of Post-16 contexts. We anticipate that delegates will already be working in post-16 education as a teacher/ trainer/ assessor or coach.  Delegates may have a strong vocational background and will have moved into teaching as a secondary career.\n\nPractice requirement:  There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of professional practice for this qualification\n\nPerformance requirement:  As part of the course you will complete 6 written assignments and a portfolio of evidence.  The portfolio will require you to complete a minimum of 3 different observed taught sessions\, each observation MUST be 30 minutes or longer\, and the total combined time of all observations must be longer than 3 hours.  You can to do more than 3 observations if you do not meet all criteria in the 3 observations or the required 3 hours\, but the minimum number of observations is 3.  These observations should be spread across the course to allow for incorporation of feedback/ development targets in the subsequent observations.  These observations will be carried out by a suitably qualified mentor that you will need to be able to provide before joining the course.  All observations must be in person.\n\nMentor requirements:  Your suitably qualified mentor must be able to demonstrate current evidence of CPD in assessment and:\n\n 	Hold a teaching/training qualification at level 4 or above.\n 	Hold an assessor qualification at level 3 or above which includes assessment in the workplace\n\nThere will be 9 Workshops (all 10.00—4.00) which will be held on Fridays. The topics to be covered and workshop dates are:\n\nWorkshop 1 – 18/09/2026 Introduction to learning\nWorkshop 2 – 02/10/2026 Planning to meet individual learner needs\nWorkshop 3 – 16/10/2026 Delivering education and training (Pt 1)\nWorkshop 4 – 23/10/2026 Delivering education and training (Pt 2)\nWorkshop 5 – 06/11/2026 Progress checking and showcasing\nWorkshop 6 – 20/11/2026 Assessment in learning\nWorkshop 7 – 27/11/2026 Learning resources\nWorkshop 8 – 11/12/2026 Inclusive practice (Pt 1)\nWorkshop 9 – 10/12/2026 Inclusive practice (Pt 2)\n\nIn addition to workshop attendance\, delegates will undertake a short pre-course activity\,\nindependent research\, complete assignments and be observed on at least 3 occasions\n\n

SUMMARY:Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Fast-track)
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Solvendis Teaching Excellence programme we are pleased to be able to offer an effective response to the need to develop the teaching and training skills of staff working in Post-16 education. \nThis intensive programme is designed for: \n\nnew or existing trainers with hands-on vocational expertise who are seriously looking to develop their teaching and training skills. This could include those recently moved into a training role from assessor role\nstaff new to the roles of trainer and assessor.\n\nThe programme will focus on those aspects of training so essential in ensuring sound learning – and\, of course\, meeting the requirements of the Education Inspection Framework.  Participants will benefit from a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the education and training sector.  They will develop their teaching and training skills through a clear understanding of inclusive teaching and learning\, and be able to plan\, deliver and evaluate learning which meets the needs of all learners in a safe and supportive learning environment. \nFinally\, participants will gain a detailed understanding of the different types and methods of assessment. \nTo complete the programme\, participants will be required to attend four workshop days\, which will include learner-led microteach\, as well as completing some pre-course work and assignments.  Assessment will be via portfolio\, assignment and observation. \nAlthough there are no minimum entry requirements for this course\, participants should be able to demonstrate the minimum core levels of literacy\, language\, numeracy and ICT skills expected of all teachers and trainers in the sector. At the end of the programme\, successful participants will be awarded the Level 3 Award \nDelivered online\, delegates need to attend on 8\, 9\, 22 & 23 October 2026 (10.00 – 4.00 each day).

Increasingly\, learners will be required to move across educational\, professional\, and community contexts\,  engaging with opportunities that are flexible\, personalised\, and responsive to their evolving needs. Digital pedagogies and technologies are key to enabling this flexibility.   \n\n\n\nLearning Without Edges invites a collective exploration of how our community can help shape a future where learning is continuous\, connected\, and accessible to all. The conference theme recognises the role that digital can play in reimagining learning as a dynamic ecosystem that transcends traditional boundaries between formal and informal learning\, education and employment\, physical and digital environments\, and local and global communities.  \n\n\n\nAt the heart of this theme is a commitment to human-centred design\, equity\, and empowerment. We encourage debate about how digital tools and technologies can support learners throughout their lives while fostering agency\, belonging\, wellbeing\, and resilience. Digital Ecosystems for Lifelong Learning Examining the policies\, technologies\, processes\, cultures\, and leadership  approaches that support flexible lifelong participation through digitally enabled  learning within organisations and institutions  \n\n\n\n5. Wildcard: Innovation without Edges This is a space for submissions that do not neatly fit into the other four categories. If your work represents a new domain of inquiry\, an unconventional methodology or an unorthodox approach to digital learning and learning technology\, we encourage you to submit under this strand. We particularly welcome contributions from colleagues working in under-represented areas of digital learning\, including grassroots initiatives\, informal learning spaces\, or roles that are often overlooked in traditional contexts.  \n\n\n\nPlease note: there is no dedicated AI strand\, as AI‑related submissions should align with one of the strands above.
