SUMMARY:Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
DESCRIPTION:This Level 4 teaching qualification is designed to develop delegates practical teaching skills helping them to become effective teachers in a range of Post-16 contexts. We anticipate that delegates will already be working in post-16 education as a teacher/ trainer/ assessor or coach.  Delegates may have a strong vocational background and will have moved into teaching as a secondary career.\n\nPractice requirement:  There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of professional practice for this qualification\n\nPerformance requirement:  As part of the course you will complete 6 written assignments and a portfolio of evidence.  The portfolio will require you to complete a minimum of 3 different observed taught sessions\, each observation MUST be 30 minutes or longer\, and the total combined time of all observations must be longer than 3 hours.  You can to do more than 3 observations if you do not meet all criteria in the 3 observations or the required 3 hours\, but the minimum number of observations is 3.  These observations should be spread across the course to allow for incorporation of feedback/ development targets in the subsequent observations.  These observations will be carried out by a suitably qualified mentor that you will need to be able to provide before joining the course.  All observations must be in person.\n\nMentor requirements:  Your suitably qualified mentor must be able to demonstrate current evidence of CPD in assessment and:\n\n 	Hold a teaching/training qualification at level 4 or above.\n 	Hold an assessor qualification at level 3 or above which includes assessment in the workplace\n\nThere will be 9 Workshops (all 10.00—4.00) which will be held on Fridays. The topics to be covered and workshop dates are:\n\nWorkshop 1 – 18/09/2026 Introduction to learning\nWorkshop 2 – 02/10/2026 Planning to meet individual learner needs\nWorkshop 3 – 16/10/2026 Delivering education and training (Pt 1)\nWorkshop 4 – 23/10/2026 Delivering education and training (Pt 2)\nWorkshop 5 – 06/11/2026 Progress checking and showcasing\nWorkshop 6 – 20/11/2026 Assessment in learning\nWorkshop 7 – 27/11/2026 Learning resources\nWorkshop 8 – 11/12/2026 Inclusive practice (Pt 1)\nWorkshop 9 – 10/12/2026 Inclusive practice (Pt 2)\n\nIn addition to workshop attendance\, delegates will undertake a short pre-course activity\,\nindependent research\, complete assignments and be observed on at least 3 occasions\n\n

SUMMARY:Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Fast Track)
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to be able to offer an effective response to the need to develop the teaching and training skills of staff working in Post-16 education. \nThe programme will focus on those aspects of training so essential in ensuring sound learning. Participants will benefit from a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the education and training sector. They will develop their teaching and training skills through a clear understanding of inclusive teaching and learning\, and be able to plan\, deliver and evaluate learning which meets the needs of all learners. \nParticipants attend for 4 workshop days\, which include a microteach\, and assignment completion. Assessment will be via portfolio\, assignment and observation. \nDates of attendance are 7\, 8\, 14 & 15 December 2026 (all days 10.00 – 4.00). \nDelegate fee £455 (plus vat) plus £62 awarding body registration fee – maximum delegate number 12.

DESCRIPTION:Keeping Children Safe in Education imposes duties on the Advisory Boards and Governing Bodies of Post-16 education and skills providers:  The DfE publication requires: \n\nGoverning bodies and proprietors to ensure that all governors and receive appropriate safeguarding and child protection training at induction.\n\nThe training should equip Board members with the knowledge to provide strategic challenge to test and assure themselves that the safeguarding policies and procedures of the organisation are effective and support the delivery of a robust approach to safeguarding. \nLed by Bob\, an experienced trainer\, safeguarding specialist and former full-time HMI the workshop will be engaging and delivered at a digestible pace – delegate numbers will be limited to a maximum of 12.
