Employers invited to learn about digital marketing

Employers across the region are invited to attend a free networking event to find out how digital marketing can be used to help businesses to grow.

The informal event takes place on Thursday 11 October, 8.00am to 10.00am in The Open Kitchen, Barnsley College, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2AX.

Attendees will hear from Lance Brook, Digital Marketing Manager at Forward and Thinking, who will talk about the range of digital products that help businesses find and connect with customers. He will provide an overview of the different digital platforms businesses can use, what to use them for and how to measure success.

Suzan McGladdery, Director of Business Development at Barnsley College, will provide an apprenticeship update. This will be a chance for employers interested in taking on an apprentice, or who already have apprentices, to find out more about funding reforms, new apprenticeship standards and how the College can help them recruit an apprentice or up-skill their existing workforce. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the College’s facilities and network with other businesses.

Suzan said: “Events like these are really important for the College to demonstrate how we support employers to grow their business whether that’s through developing their marketing skills, recruiting an apprentice or developing their workforce skills.

“We look forward to welcoming all attendees to enjoy breakfast and networking whilst picking up training and support tips.”

Places are limited, so businesses are being encouraged to book via Eventbrite. Alternatively, employers can reserve a place by emailing the Marketing, Communications and PR team, or calling 01226 216 833
