Penny Power is founder of the Digital Youth Academy

Independent training provider Seetec Skills has acquired career development specialists Digital Youth Academy to expand its digital services nationwide.

Seetec plans to roll out a 'Digital Academy' in the coming months to provide a wide range of career development opportunities to all people of working age, from level 2 Apprenticeships to Traineeships and short courses.

Penny Power OBE, Digital Youth Academy's founder and FE News columnist, said: "The vision of the Digital Youth Academy is to create the bridge between businesses and the skills they now need in order to transform and grow in the digital economy.

"With a demand of 750,000 digital jobs anticipated across the UK, I am thrilled that Seetec Skills, has decided that this is a critical need for their provision to enable them to offer more to their customers. I am very much looking forward to working with Seetec Skills to build on the excellent impact that has been achieved over the last three years".

The new Digital Academy will be supported by a further two sector academies: the Business Academy and the Service Academy.

Seetec national operations director Sean Purcell said: "The new Digital Academy, in addition to the Business and Service Academies, underlines our drive and passion to become the best provider of learning and skills within the sectors and markets we operate in.

"We will continue to innovate and to provide flexible, dynamic and affordable learning opportunities to benefit the communities we work within, the employers we work for and the individual learners we support across the country."
