Make sure you are easy to reach.

When searching and applying for a new job, sometimes it is easy to get wrapped up in the job search and making sure your CV and application is perfect. It is also equally important you don’t fall at the first hurdle, so as the employer receives your application in a positive way.

When it comes to your job search it is really important to make sure you are easy to reach. Is your email address spelt correctly and have you double checked that it works? Have you typed out your telephone number correctly? If you have gone to all of the trouble to create a stand out CV and application… make sure you don’t spoil the vibe and make sure you are easy to reach.

We all know that first impressions are really important. Have you spell checked your CV and your email to the company you are applying to? It only takes seconds, but an application riddled with spelling errors really sends out the wrong signals and really does make a negative impression on your application.

Another really important thing to double check is your email address. Not only that is it working, but does it give a positive impression of you to your future employer? Would you give a job interview to someone with HotLips7 @ Xmail.com ? Probably not… so make sure your email address is professional and secure. We would not recommend using your current job email address as this could cause all sorts of problems for you in the future!.. and once you left the role it is a good idea to be contactable, you never know 18 months from now someone may have a dream job for you and you will then be glad that you were easy to reach.  If you do set up a dedicated email address for your job search, don’t forget to check it regularly! When your future employer gets in touch, you don’t want to keep them waiting!

Good luck in your job search
