BBFC Launch GCSE and A Level Media Studies Revision Aid Podcast

With exam season upon us, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has released a podcast to support students, teachers and parents in the lead up to this years media studies exams.

This episode, number 93, welcomes two new voices to the podcast, our Education Officers Joe Rucco and Emily Fussell.

The episode is a useful revision tool for all students taking media studies this summer, at both GCSE and A level. The podcasts discusses key films on the teaching syllabus in detail, including I,Daniel Blake (15)Straight Outta Compton (15) and Doctor Strange (12).

Lucy Brett, the BBFC’s Head of Education, said:

“With exams around the corner we wanted to use our film expertise and century of knowledge to support students and teachers through this busy revision period. As well as discussing a handful of texts that might make an appearance in the exams this summer, we’re also talking more generally about the educational outreach work that we do. From everyone at the BBFC, we would like to wish everyone sitting exams this summer the best of luck!”

BBFC podcasts, case studies and archived information are all important education tools and are pivotal to our outreach work. Last year the BBFC Education spoke to almost 10,000 people and held 145 education seminars.

The educational content we produce are carefully tailored and predominantly led by the young people that our education team speak to everyday, through seminars and direct questions from students and teachers.
