Behaviour and Vulnerability Intervention Worker

£20,928 Per Annum

Hours: 37 per week
Contract Type: Fixed term October 2024 or return of the postholder

You will be responsible for providing pastoral care, guidance and support for the most vulnerable students, including being the identified link for Care Experience young people and supporting campus cohesion and positive student behaviour.

The role will facilitate engagement with the particularly vulnerable students, providing timely and pro-active interventions to Care Experienced students that are at risk of disengaging.

You will coordinate and represent the college at Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews and support effective transition and progression for Care Leavers into Higher Education.

You will contribute to the College implementation of our shared corporate parenting responsibility for Care Experienced Young People.

You will support the Personal Development, Employability and Welfare Manager with welfare issues for Care Experienced young people, ensuring that appropriate support and educational support is available.

You will also work closely with the Student Support and Engagement Management Team and curriculum teams to provide consistent intervention for positive behaviour and campus cohesion.

You must have a Level 3 professional qualification – e.g. Education, Administration, Child Care, Social Care, Youth Work or Health. You must have experience of working with hard to engage individuals and have achieved a positive engagement with students / pupils in an Education setting.
