Capel Manor College is the only College in London that aims to deliver outstanding and inspirational and environmental land-based learning opportunities across the Greater London region. Our most recent Ofsted report rated the College “good” with good effectiveness of leadership and management. Aspiring to excellence, the College has an excellent reputation for quality, is financially strong and has continuous growth in student numbers. Fundamental to the College’s forward-thinking strategy is support for the environment and food supply in Greater London and the southeast

We are seeking to appoint an experienced full-time, permanent Lecturer in Animal Management at our Mottingham campus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the teaching programme and course management of the College’s courses including Levels 1, 2, and 3 in Animal Care and Animal Management and supporting learners to realise their full potential, possibly across its campuses throughout London, as appropriate and in liaison with college personnel.

The ideal candidate will deliver and coordinate the assessment of a range of subjects related to Animal Management and Care to appropriate examination body standards, including both campus- and work-based learning. Competence in the care and management of a wide range of animal species would be an advantage. Moreover, they will provide specialist advice relating to animal care activities and developments. They will take shared responsibility for the health and welfare of the College’s animal stock, including contribution to weekend, holiday and emergency cover rotas as required. We expect candidates to possess an HND, degree or similar in animal science, zoology or a related discipline. It is desirable that the successful candidate holds a teaching qualification, or must be willing to work towards one.

Most, importantly, the successful candidate will join a vibrant, creative, and supportive team, with a shared passion and vision in making a positive impact to the lives of students of all ages and backgrounds.
