Who we need

The Animal Science department have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious person to join our team as curriculum support for a busy vocational area of Nottingham College.

The successful candidate will:

· Have effective organisational ability and excellent communication skills working with both students and staff.

· Hold key roles include daily care and husbandry of the animals in the unit,

· Prepare for and delivering practical based lessons each week,

· Prepare animals and equipment for practical assessments,

· Write risk assessments and procedures

· Keep animal records up to date and ordering, tracking and taking delivery of animal resources orders.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the animal industry with a range of small mammals and exotic species.

What you’ll bring

With previous experience of working in the animal care sector we are looking for a candidate who is adaptable to the workings of the area, well organised and can work with colleagues and students in a patient and objective manner.

We are also looking for a candidate who:

· Can work effectively as a member of a team

· Is respectful and has an inclusive attitude to learners and colleagues

· Can demonstrate a genuine commitment to the role in terms of quality and excellence using continuing professional development
