Following on from the success of last year’s ‘Love Our Colleges’ campaign, Barking & Dagenham College (@BarkingCollege) is dedicating 18 – 22 October to #CollegesWeek2021 and highlighting the amazing work colleges do and why long-term investment is crucial if the government is to ‘level up’ all areas of the country.

Students celebrate Black History Month through performance and art

Barking & Dagenham College (@BarkingCollege) students took to the stage as part of Black History: Past, present and future, at the Broadway Theatre yesterday (@BroadwayBarking).

Photography students create exhibition for Black History month

Students studying at the East London Institute of Technology, part of Barking & Dagenham College (@BarkingCollege), have launched an online photography exhibition to mark Black History Month. 

Sport student wins bodybuilding medals

A sports student with cerebral palsy and a passion for bodybuilding has won medals at a prestigious competition (@BarkingCollege).  Lee Farrell, 35 from Dagenham, took part in the UFE European Championships in central London.  He competed in both the ‘Men’s beachwear fitness model’ and the ‘Men’s physique’ events.

Ford apprentices reunite 47 years on at former college

The men first met when they began their apprenticeships with the Ford Motor Company between 1970-74.  As part of their apprenticeships, they studied at the Rush Green campus of Barking & Dagenham College (@BarkingCollege). Since then they have remained firm friends but some have not seen each other for many years – over 47 years for some!  They decided it would be nice if they could all meet up again and that it would be even better if they were able to visit their old college and take a trip down memory lane!
