#FeedTheNation - 8,000 workers offered jobs in bid to keep supermarket shelves stocked
Workers who have lost their jobs as a result of COVID-19 are being offered new employment and training opportunities under an initiative launched by the UK’s largest recruitment company, Staffline and PeoplePlus, the UK’s leading independent adult training provider.
The UK will see thousands more workers in the aisles, storerooms and depots of leading supermarkets, on the production line of our food manufacturers or at the wheel of trucks and transport delivering food where its needed most within days to meet consumer demand, thanks to the launch of a scheme to Feed the Nation by the country’s largest recruiter and training provider, which will also help people who have lost their jobs during the Covid-19 crisis. There is demand for people to work in these sectors which is now outstripping supply.
New approach needed to boost #productivity in the North, @PeopleplusUK tells MPs

The organisation believes that a new approach is needed to address skills gaps and provide a much-needed boost to productivity in the North and other regions, helping the Government to realise its ambition of ‘levelling up’ more quickly.
One of the UK’s leading apprenticeship levy providers, PeoplePlus Group, has announced that from January 2020 it will manage the Heathrow Employment and Skills Academy (HESA). It will support Heathrow Airport with its ambitious employment and skills strategy and its commitment to deliver 10,000 apprenticeships by 2030.
