Weston College is one of the top-performing colleges in the country, offering a Further Education and Higher Education provision from entry level to Master's Degree level. It remains the only college in the West of England to be rated outstanding by Ofsted, and in 2015 won the prestigious TES FE College of the Year and Overall FE Provider of the Year Awards. The College has invested heavily in recent years to provide modern, well-equipped, facilities. It's mission statement is to create brighter futures, which it achieves by putting the learner at the heart of everything it does.
Following a recent government press conference, the Prime Minister has suggested that wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of face masks will be part of the UK's coronavirus lockdown exit strategy.
For prospective university students and their parents, the costs and loans associated with university can be daunting and confusing. Many news articles obscure this further by presenting misleading information.
Weston College plans to build a Health and Active Living Skills Centre on land adjacent to the College’s Loxton Campus site.
The plan will see £13.3 million pounds invested into the area with the creation of teaching spaces for health and social care. It will be the first facility of its kind in the region and courses taught at the site will enable young people and adults to learn from Level 1 up to degree-level – ensuring that the region is able to provide the right skills and qualifications it needs for a sustainable healthcare workforce for the future.
Weston College has won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education, one of only two further education colleges in the country to be awarded this prestigious honour.
The award comes just weeks after Weston College took home two Association of Colleges’ (AoC) Beacon Awards for Widening Participation and Learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities at the AoC National Conference.
