GE Announces Multi-Million Pound Investment to Create Diverse New Generation of UK Engineers

@GeneralElectric (GE) has announced a five-year, $3.5 million (£2.5m) investment in the UK as part of its global Next Engineers programme, to increase the diversity of young people entering engineering. The UK programme will be based in Staffordshire, where GE operates three sites that design, develop, and service products used throughout the power and renewable energy industries.

@MyKindaFuture the underrepresented talent specialist, has partnered with @TCS (TCS), the global leader in IT services, to offer students across Britain a weeklong, virtual work experience programme, with over 21,000 young people set to benefit. The initiative, starting on Monday 13th July, will introduce sixth form students from all walks of life to the career possibilities within the technology industry, and provide them with valuable skills, experience and insight at a time when lockdown restrictions caused by COVID-19 have stripped young people of many opportunities.
