Gareth Robinson resigns from ABE
ABE, the not-for-profit awarding body regulated by Ofqual, has announced that Gareth Robinson has officially resigned from his post as CEO and he has now left the business.
In recent weeks, allegations were brought to the attention of the Board that there were some serious discrepancies in his CV.
Keith Ramsay, Chair of ABE’s Board, stated: “When the Board was made aware of the allegations it took decisive action to commence an investigation. The integrity of the organisation and the trust our partners, stakeholders and students have in our brand and our qualifications is paramount and anything that could potentially undermine that has to be addressed,”
“Gareth has resigned citing personal reasons and, with immediate effect, is no longer an employee of the business”, he added
ABE is committed to providing affordable business qualifications without compromising on quality, to learners in the UK and beyond. ABE’s courses provide students with the chance to grow their business skills, develop entrepreneurial spirit and build the competencies that will enable them to embark on successful careers.
The Board of Directors at ABE will shortly commence a recruitment process to fill Gareth’s position following his departure. An interim CEO will be appointed in the coming days to guide the business on a day-to-day basis until a suitable permanent replacement can be found.
In the meantime, the Board and Leadership team remain committed to ABE’s mission of providing high quality education.
