Waltham Forest College Freshers’ Fair Sees Hundreds of Students Attend

The start of the new academic year got off to a bang at Waltham Forest College when it hosted its annual Freshers’ Fair from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 September.

The Freshers’ Fair is designed to welcome new and returning students and to give them the opportunity to meet new friends and discover the very best of what’s on offer during their time at college as well as in the community.

The event was a huge success with over 700 students and more than 20 exhibitors in attendance. With music, freebies, competition and entertainment, the lively event gave students a fun start to their college life at Waltham Forest College.

Exhibitors including Virgin Media, Peacocks, Met Police, Nandos, Health Watch Waltham Forest, HSBC, Dominos and more, came together to give advice and guidance, employment, enterprise and volunteering opportunities, to help enhance students’ learning experience. The exhibitors were impressed with the college’s facilities and the response received from students.

Store Manager from Nandos in Walthamstow, Monika Saleem said: “This is by far the best Freshers’ Fair I have ever attended. The staff members are very welcoming and the students are very polite and receptive.” 

BTEC Level 3 Business student Julicia Meade, commented saying: “This is such a great event for students. I never knew how much advice, guidance and support were available to students within the College and local community.”
