From education to employment

SERC SAT test centre approved

Responding to the needs of the community, South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is pleased to announced that they have been approved as an accredited SAT test centre, the only provider in Northern Ireland. SAT is a standardised aptitude test widely used for college and university admissions in the United States (US).

Approval was confirmed by the College Board in the United States. The College Board is dedicated to promoting excellence and equity in education by connecting students to college success and opportunity.

As the only provider in Northern Ireland, SERC will greatly facilitate the local community and alleviate the need to travel outside the region to take the test. Additionally, it will also provide a pathway to university for those interested in attending an undergraduate programme in the US.

SERC’s Head of the International School of English Natalie Le Seelleur said “The achievement of this approval represents a major milestone and raises the bar for our international provision. We believe that becoming an international SAT test centre is testament to the quality of our international team and reinforces our reputation as a dedicated testing centre for international students as well as local students hoping to study internationally.

“If anyone is considering applying to a college or university undergraduate programme in the United States they will almost certainly need to take the SAT, since most require you to submit test scores with your application.”

The next test dates are 3 December 2016 and 3 June 2017 at the College’s Lisburn Campus. For further information or to register for the exam please call SERC’s International office on 028 9262 6752 or email Natalie Le Seelleur at [email protected].
