Continued Investment from 3aaa Apprenticeships Supports the Launch of Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s NatWest T20 Blast Season for the Third Consecutive Year.

Tuesday 4th April 2017 saw the launch of the partnership between Apprenticeship Training Provider 3aaa Apprenticeships and Derbyshire County Cricket Club for the third consecutive season.

The continued partnership enables both local and national economic growth through tourism, sport and entertainment. This is a key focus for both the City and the Midlands Engine Strategy.

This year promises to be hugely exciting and successful for Derbyshire County Cricket Club, bringing international audiences to Derby through several key events including the Sir Elton John’s concert at the start of June, followed closely by the Women’s World Cup in late June and into July.

Ryan Duckett, Commercial Director of Derbyshire County Cricket Club shares his views on the unique partnership with 3aaa Apprenticeships;

“Our partnership with 3aaa Apprenticeships is fantastic for us. It has allowed us to invest in our squad and facilities and the Power of Sport is well documented in what it brings to the community through inspiring people. We have hosted several events where our players have been involved with the 3aaa Apprentices, talking about their career and how they have developed.”

“3aaa Apprenticeships have played a pivotal part in providing the club with talented Finance, IT and Digital Marketing Apprentices over the last three years. The 3aaa Apprentices have been invaluable to the club, both for building the commercial business and supporting our growth as an organisation. The individuals involved have had a tremendous learning experience in what is a fast-moving business environment.”

“Hosting the ICC Women’s World Cup is brilliant for our partnership with 3aaa Apprenticeships because of the worldwide television audience. The high-quality female cricketers will hopefully inspire more young women into cricket, and particularly into careers where they are currently under-represented including IT.”

“There are several events being hosted by the club in the lead up to the Women’s World Cup, which are being heavily supported by 3aaa Apprenticeships including the ‘This Girl Can’ event with Sally Gunnell. This is about what legacy the Women’s World Cup will leave in Derby and the United Kingdom, as well as what goals and aspirations women should aim towards in their lives.”

Joint Owner of 3aaa Apprenticeships, Peter Marples also commented on the continued partnership;

“The partnership with Derbyshire County Cricket Club and 3aaa Apprenticeships is important for us in many aspects. Firstly, it enhances opportunities for young people across the whole of sport. Secondly, it embraces and enhances our brand across not only England but across the UK and internationally as well, particularly as the cricket club further expands its opportunities in other non-sporting opportunities such as the Sir Elton John concert and the Derby Fireworks that is hosted here. Finally, and probably most importantly as we embrace the new Apprenticeship Levy, working with the cricket club and other sporting organisations enable us to bring our partnership to a further reach, across the nation and therefore enhancing the benefits of two parties working together in partnership.”

“Our partnership and investment as enabled in a small way for the cricket club to have the confidence to grow and expand itself to offer these exciting new off-field opportunities which is of benefit to everyone in the County and beyond. I would encourage all businesses to support all of these events during 2017 – it provides real added value to our business and I am sure it will do the same for you. Finally, good luck to the team this season, everyone at 3aaa Apprenticeships are hoping for an exciting 20/20 in particular.’’
