The event, “Understanding the Apprenticeships Levy”, is being held at the UNISON Centre, Euston Road on Wednesday June 7th and offers UNISON members a chance to find out more about how UNISON can support activity on apprenticeships with the introduction of the new apprenticeship levy from April 2017.

UNISON policy officer, Mark Ferguson, and Iain Murray, policy officer at unionlearn, will speak about how the levy will work, how UNISON is approaching the developments around the levy, the challenges and opportunities presented by it and how it links to the bargaining and organising agenda.

Delegates will also hear from other partner organisations and there will be workshops on UNISON’s apprenticeship toolkit, including practical activities to get involved with to assist with negotiating and bargaining.

Unionlearns recently launched “Apprenticeships – Know Your Rights” eNote will also be on show to delegates, and there will be the chance to hear about activities in the Eastern, North West and London regions, which UNISON has already undertaken, and the opportunity to do some action planning to help with getting your branch involved.
