Cardiff and Vale College is set to offer new courses for budding Legal Administrators and Medical Secretaries from September.
The City and Guilds Legal Administration course is designed to provide people with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills for a career in the legal profession. From Working in the Legal Environment to Legal Text, Word Processing and Audio Transcription of legal documents, the course covers everything you need to know about a role in law.
The Level 2 Certificate for Medical Secretaries course aims to give people a full background in the skills required by employers in Medical Administration. Modules include Medical Terminology, Administration and Communication Skills in a Medical Environment, Medical Principles, Medical Word processing and Production of Medical from recorded speech.
Both courses are taught using a mixture of short lectures, using computers to familiarise students with medical and legal documents and administration procedures, and e-learning. There will also be an element of work experience in legal and medical environments.
