Training specialist grows

A specialist in training to get people back into employment is creating a number of jobs of its own.

PHX Training, with its headquarters at Marshall House, Preston, has been growing its services to meet demand in employability along with maths, English and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Now it is taking on more staff of its own to make sure it has the resource to meet the needs of its clients in the area.

Dan Scott, managing director of PHX Training, said: “We’ve seen a marked increase in the need for employability and ESOL particularly. To ensure we stay on top of the learning with the resources we need we’ve recruited a number of qualified staff into Preston, and we believe the need for this kind of training to ensure people find employment may grow further.”

The company has employed three advisers, two tutors, a manager and an administrative assistant into its Preston HQ.

They will be specialising in employability including cv writing, interview techniques, training and how to find a job.

As well as finding employment for those our of work, PHX Training works with a range of employers from sectors including retail, warehouse, construction, manufacturing, healthcare and hospitality.

PHX Training, which has seven centres across Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside, offers courses in English and maths leading up to a level 2 qualification, the equivalent to a grade C at GCSE.

Other training programmes available through the network include business administration, customer service, IT, management, team leading, warehousing, hospitality, health and social care, cleaning services and sales and recruitment.
