All smiles for students at Macclesfield College

Students at Macclesfield College are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results yesterday. The College has seen their best ever results across all levels and many of the students will be continuing their studies at a higher level in September.

Laura Shackley, aged 30, achieved a grade 4 in her GCSE Maths and this will improve her career prospects with the aspiration of attending University to study nursing.

Laura said: “Macclesfield College has been really supportive and it has a great selection of courses for anyone who wants to get back into studying to further or change their career. I would say if anyone is thinking about enrolling onto a course, at any age, to just do it because it is a really enriching experience.”

Andrea Murphy, Vice Principal for Curriculum and Quality at Macclesfield College, said: “We are really proud of our students at Macclesfield College. This has been a bumper year in terms of results and this gives our students a platform to move on to fantastic progression routes including prestigious university courses and employment.

“Our priority for next year is to use our well qualified staff to prepare our students for the changes in the GCSE grading system and support them whether they wish to go on to further education, apprenticeships or employment.”
