ESFA today (2 Feb) updated their information for organisations thinking about applying to the register of end-point assessment organisations.

Register of apprentice assessment organisations: pre-application guidance

Register of end-point assessment organisations: conditions for organisations on the register of end-point assessment organisations

For a brief introduction for organisations please listen to this narrated presentation which provides an overview of the register of end-point assessment organisations and how it supports employers.

If you are interested in delivering the knowledge, skills and behaviours elements of the apprenticeship do not apply to the Register of End-point Assessment Organisations. You need to apply to the register of apprenticeship training providers.

Some assessment plans have specific EQA requirements, please ensure that you meet these requirements before you submit your application.

Before you start an application you must read the ‘pre-application guidance’. It contains important information about the application process and the type of organisation that ESFA are seeking for the register.

Support for applications

ESFA have been working closely with the Education and Training Foundation to extend their successful Future Apprenticeships programme to support the end-point assessment process..

The support package, which includes a one-day workshop and follow-up activity with action planning, looks at the detail, the issues and opportunities for organisations considering delivering end-point assessment. The workshop in particular will help understand end-point-assessment processes, possible organisational models and the Register of Apprenticeship End-point Organisations.

Organisations considering applying to the register may want to take advantage of this development activity being offered through the Future Apprenticeships programme.

Information for employers looking for an independent end-point assessment organisation and potential applicants to the register of apprentice assessment organisations.

Please view this narrated presentation for more information on how the register supports employers.

As well as containing information on programme training and assessment, all apprenticeship standards must contain an end-point assessment. An independent organisation must be involved in the end-point assessment of each apprentice so that all apprentices following the same standard are assessed consistently.

The register of end-point assessment organisations (the register) is a list of organisations that have been assessed as being suitable to conduct independent end-point assessment of apprentices and be in receipt of public funds.

Only these organisations are eligible to conduct independent end-point assessment of apprentices. Although a number of different people and organisations may be involved in an apprentice’s end-point assessment, only the independent organisation needs to apply to and be listed on the register.

Employers of apprentices will select an organisation from the register to conduct independent end-point assessment of their apprentices.

The register is regularly updated as more organisations successfully apply.
