Journalism student goes viral on Twitter

What would life be like if pop sensation Rihanna was the president of the United States of America? What would Donald Trump’s fashion line look like if he had one?

Well, that’s the question around 50,000 Twitter users were left asking after Salford student, Callie Hobson, tweeted a ‘glitch’ on her phone that resulted in the Twitter biographies of the two public figures being swapped.

Callie Hobson, former St Ambrose Barlow student who now studies journalism at FutureSkills at MediaCityUK, Salford City College, left twitter in a tizzy over the malfunction which she shared a snapshot of. The image showed Grammy Award winning artist, Rihanna, with the bio ‘45th President of the United States of America’ and property tycoon turned President, Donald Trump, as currently promoting his new fashion brand: ‘@FentyBeauty is out now!’

Callie captioned the tweet: ‘my phone just glitched and swapped their bios somehow and I’m screaming.’

The student received more than 49,000 likes and was retweeted over 18,000 times, with the Daily Mail branding her as ‘somewhat of an online star’.

She made headlines in the paper for her Twitter triumph and the hundreds of hilarious comments it triggered.

‘I move to make this glitch permanent by promising to listen to his songs when she becomes president,’ tweeted one user with another commenting, ‘your phone is doing amazing! We love the 45th president of the United States, Rihanna Fenty.’
