The Education Committee is to hear from the IPPR, Young Women’s Trust and Sutton Trust at the first oral evidence session of the inquiry in to the quality of apprenticeships and skills training.

The three organisations have all undertaken research on how to improve apprenticeships and skills training courses and open up access for learners.

Questioning is likely to focus on the standard of current provision and what good quality training looks like, financial and other barriers to training and the wider skills system.

The Committee’s inquiry was launched in November and is examining the quality of all forms of Government funded apprenticeships and skills training, as well as the effectiveness of the quality monitoring regime. The full terms of reference can be found here.

Tuesday 16 January, 10.30am, Room 15, Palace of Westminster

    Witness schedule:

    • Joe Dromey, Senior Research Fellow, IPPR
    • Dr Carole Easton, Chief Executive, Young Women’s Trust
