England Rugby Coach on the ball at Tresham College

Young rugby players at Tresham College and coaches from across the region were given the unique opportunity to attend a training session with England Under 18s Coach Russell Earnshaw on 31st January 2018.

Held on the artificial rugby pitch at Tresham College, Kettering the event was planned to showcase the Tresham Rugby Academy, where students receive the very highest level of rugby training alongside their chosen academic programme. 

Academy students were given expert guidance from Russell, himself an ex-professional rugby player who now coaches the England Under 18s squad. 

Over 30 rugby coaches from local and regional teams were also invited to attend on the day, to gain an insight into coaching at the very highest level.

Head of Tresham Academy of Sport Dan Burns said the event was well attended and a great success:

“The training session was part of our open day to enable aspiring Rugby Academy students to experience our excellent training and facilities here at Tresham College. 

“We are very grateful that Russell gave his time to come along and inspire our young players and give the benefit of his extensive knowledge to our local coaches.”
