LAND AND PROPERTY SEARCH FIRM MILLAR & BRYCE BACKS SCOTLAND’S APPRENTICES

Millar & Bryce, Scotland’s leading land and property search firm is supporting Scottish Apprenticeship Week, by highlighting the wide range of opportunities available to young people interested in a legal apprenticeship in Scotland.  

Over the years, the company has benefited greatly from the rich talent coming out of schools and universities through its ‘searchers’ apprenticeship scheme.

The two year scheme sees Trainee’s complete an SVQ in Business Administration through two, 12 month placements, providing the Trainee with a broader understanding of the business and indeed exposure across the different areas within Millar & Bryce. This allows them to determine what direction they would like their career to take on completion of their apprenticeship. 

Shannon Ramsay, 21, started at Millar & Bryce in 2014 upon leaving school as an Apprentice Trainee Searcher. She started her first year placement in the Business Support Team, where she gained knowledge and experience of the administrative support function to the business.

For Shannon’s second year placement she moved to the Conveyancing and Legal Team to learn the skills of a Land Searcher.

Upon completing her apprenticeship, Shannon became an integral permanent member of the Conveyancing and Legal team as a Land Searcher, and then further developed her skills to become a Multi-Skilled Searcher in a team of 30 multi-skilled staff.
