CICM announces first candidates to attain Level 2 Credit Controller Apprenticeship

Bradley Abbott of Aggregate Industries UK

The Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM), Europe’s largest credit management membership body, has announced the first three candidates to successfully attain their Level 2 Apprenticeship in Credit Control and Collections.

The three successful apprentices, Bradley Abbott of Aggregate Industries UK, Ryan Coton of Adecco Group UK & Ireland and Lewis Pace of Smiths News were fully supported throughout the programme through a combination of specialist coaches from FWD Training & Consultancy and CICM Credit Academy.

Their qualification included the use of CICM virtual classes culminating with the End Point Assessment (EPA) process of a professional discussion and two assignments to test that their knowledge, skills and behaviours meet the Apprenticeship standard.

This was a proud moment for the credit management and collections profession, praising the Trailblazer Employer Group, Debbie Tuckwood, Head of Education and Professional Development at the CICM, said:

“The Group was instrumental in designing the first apprenticeships for this area,” she explains, “and we are delighted to announce this achievement during National Apprenticeship Week 2018 when employers and apprentices come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships.”

Phil Rice, Head of Credit, Aggregate Industries said: “We are really pleased to see the results of Bradley’s hard work achieving Level 2.  He is our first apprentice studying CICM qualifications and he can’t wait to get started on his Level 3. We are seeing the benefits of our investment in our Academy and the CICM paying dividends.”

Austen Basleigh, Director, FWD Training & Consultancy added: “We are very proud to have achieved the UK’s first successful learner completions of the Credit Controller Apprenticeship Standard. It has been a pleasure to be the first provider to undergo the EPA process with the CICM and we have benefited from their outstanding support, flexibility and open communications. We very much look forward to completing many more Credit Apprentices together’.

“The apprentices have benefitted considerably from undertaking the apprenticeship with increased knowledge of the industry and are making a real impact within their organisations with the many new and improved skills they have learned. The apprentices have enjoyed the programme so much that they are already looking to sign up to the next level of apprenticeship.”

Further and more detailed case studies will follow based on the Apprentices’ experience and journey.
