From education to employment

.@3aaaUK – Top of the Allocations Table

Whilst there has been much focus on the world of levy paying employers over the past 12 months, the sector must not lose sight of the importance of Non Levy Paying employers. Over 60% of All Apprenticeship starts nationally are from non-levy payers.

3aaa have never lost sight of that market – it is how we built our business over the past six years since we were given our first SFA allocation of just £300,000 in October 2012. We are therefore delighted to see that in the most recent published information from the ESFA, 3aaa is the largest provider by contract volume for all starts since May 2017 through to March 2019 in contract allocation with a total of £21.9m, some 50% more than the nearest other allocation.

The data also confirms that 3aaa is the 3rd largest contract holder in the sector with over £30.9m of contract, only surpassed by CITB and JTL.

This shows the significant journey the business has been on since 2012. During this time, we have delivered tens of thousands of opportunities, particularly to young people with over 63% of our contract value being the 16- 18 year old group, significantly exceeding the top 30 providers by contract value by a significant percentage.

Peter Marples, Group Chief Executive said “This is significant data. It shows how the business has developed, whilst at the same time building a significant levy business as well. We said some 24 months ago that our non-reliance on levy payers was an advantage to us. We have proven that, time and time again whilst maintaining our focus on the important SME market place. Our 38 training centres across the country deliver consistent high quality training delivery to Apprentices of all ages and we will continue to maintain the balance in our business of responding to both levy and non-levy paying employers”.
