From education to employment

VQ Day at NPTC Group of Colleges

Staff and students across NPTC Group of Colleges came together on Thursday 3rd May to support VQ (Vocational Qualification) Day.

NPTC Group of Colleges is proud to hold a Triple Distinction record in hundreds of vocational subjects.

What is VQ Day?

A vocational qualification is a recognised award designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and/or competence directly relevant to a line of work or specific job role.

Vocational Qualifications are available from Entry Level to Level 8 of the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. Qualifications can range in size and level from, for example, an Entry Level certificate in Child Development, to a Level 8 Diploma in Direction and Leadership.

Why we Celebrate?

Vocational qualifications deserve the same accolades and level of recognition that academic qualifications receive. There are GCSE and A-Level results days so why not a day to celebrate VQs? Hence VQ Day!

Vocational qualifications have never been more important to the economy and the individual; they deliver the trained, talented employees businesses are crying out for and ensure young people have the skills needed to succeed in education and work.

We want everyone to come together to recognise how high quality VQs can enhance life and work chances.

How do we Celebrate?

VQ Day is only so successful due to the hundreds of schools, colleges, work-based providers, businesses and learners getting involved across the country.

There are many ways be a part of VQ Day; putting on events, nominating learners and employers and engaging local AMs and MP are just some of them.

Who gets Involved?

VQ Day is organised jointly by the Welsh Government, the National Training Federation for Wales, Qualifications Wales and ColegauCymru / CollegesWales.
