Welfare and duty of care in Armed Forces initial training

Ofstedā€™s annual reports on the effectiveness of welfare and duty of care for recruits and trainees in Armed Forces initial training. 

Their reports draw on inspection evidence to:

  • Look at the level of progress in addressing issues of care, welfare and support for recruits and trainees during initial training in the Armed Forces, including examination of self-assessment by the establishments
  • Judge the effectiveness of the strategic and operational management of the care, welfare and support for recruits and trainees during initial training in the Armed Forces
  • Take account of the national care standards and safeguarding where relevant
