From education to employment

FUNDING BAND REVIEW

The Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA) has today (21 May) started reviewing the funding bands for 31 standards, which are already approved for delivery.

IfA will work collaboratively with trailblazers to carry out the review in an open and fair way.

This review follows a request from the Department for Education (DfE), and will help make sure that employers can access high quality apprenticeships, and that funding bands represent good value for money for employers and government.

Some of the standards in this review are among the most popular. Some have a low number of starts and employer feedback suggests that take up may be restricted by their current funding band.

IfA will use the new funding band recommendation approach, and the new 30 funding band structure announced by DfE.

Reviewed funding band recommendations will be made to the Department for Education, who take the final decision on all funding bands.

As part of IfA’s remit, they are responsible for conducting regular reviews of published standards.

The 31 standards involved in this review are:
