From education to employment

New resources to support mental wellbeing of construction students

Free mental health resources to help support those teaching construction students in further education have been developed by the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust.

A booklet ‘Seeking help in times of trouble’ and an accompanying Powerpoint have been produced in response to evidence that the figure for male suicide amongst construction workers is up to twice the national average.

The resources highlight the importance of talking about problems as a means to deal with mental distress and of signposting students to existing and new networks of support.
