Entrepreneur award for learning provider’s founder

Matt Jones, the founder of online learning provider, Oxbridge Home Learning, has been named Entrepreneur of the Year.

The 36-year-old, who has been setting up and running businesses for almost two decades, received the accolade at the Nachural Business Awards 2018, which showcases the achievements of individuals and companies across the West Midlands region.

The Entrepreneur of the Year category recognises the star businesspeople and entrepreneurs who are currently disrupting marketplaces in wonderful ways. The award identifies those who possess the drive, resilience and determination to succeed in the long term, as well as having already stamped their mark on the business world whilst supporting the local community.

With Oxbridge Home Learning, Matt has been pushing the boundaries of distance learning to increase the impact education has on people’s lives. He mentors his team to maximise on excellence in training and educating people to excel and develop their future. In just two years, Matt and the team have introduced 200+ courses from GCSEs and A-Levels to professional qualifications via renowned awarding bodies.

His previous ventures include setting up an electronics business at 17, where he traded components and lighting equipment. A pioneer of digital learning, he later founded his first training business in 2007 at just 24, eventually helping 40,000+ people succeed through learning. More recently, Matt has ventured in to areas such as a tech-driven restaurant and sustainable energy sources.

Matt said: “I’m completely over the moon to have won, this recognition means a lot to me, so a heartfelt thanks to Ninder Johal and the Nachural Business Awards for believing in me.

The Nachural Summer Business Ball and Awards took place on Friday 29th June at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
