From education to employment

The Chartered Institution for Further Education Welcomes New Member, Newham Training and Education Centre

The Chartered Institution for Further Education welcomes new Member Newham Training and Education Centre (NEWTEC), who now has a Member profile on the Chartered Institution for Further Education website. Established in 1983, NEWTEC is an award-winning charity offering vocational training in East London.

Head of Stakeholder Engagement Simi Akinsuyi says:

ā€œWe decided to become a Member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education because it aligns with our mission and values in terms of highest quality and integrated services. This has given us the opportunity to be benchmarked against the highest performing organisations in the country. This is one of the highest accolades to demonstrate our commitment to our mission of providing high quality services.ā€

A positive by-product of the application process for NEWTEC is that this allowed them to align separate parts of the organisation into a more coherent entity.

NEWTEC is the first charity organisation to become a Member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education. The Education Centre works with organisations to provide unique and high quality services to aid the long-term unemployed in securing work.

Chief Executive of NEWTEC Pat Edwards added:

ā€œEvery UK training provider should embrace and carry out the Chartered Institution for Further Education application process to join-up and straighten the design and implementation dots ā€“ an extremely worthwhile process.ā€

Dan Wright, CEO and Secretary of the Chartered Institution for Further Education said:

ā€œWe are very pleased to welcome NEWTEC into Membership of the Chartered Institution for Further Education. It was heartening to see, throughout the application process, their dedication to working within the community to help people into work, as well as providing high quality learning opportunities for all. We look forward to working with NEWTEC to promote and celebrate excellence within the Further Education sector.ā€
