Haringey Sixth Form College #Resultsday2018

Congratulations to #Team Haringey6 and to all our wonderful A-Level & BTEC students on a fantastic and well-deserved set of outstanding results!

Haringey Sixth Form College celebrated outstanding successes in today’s A-level and BTEC results, marking yet another year of excellent academic and personal achievements for students at the college.

New A-level linear specifications are now fully embedded across all subjects. Both the A-level and BTEC results are very impressive and very pleasing, especially for the people that matter: our amazing students.

Of course, we do focus on some of the traditional headline measures that you can see below.

However, our values as a college mean we really focus on every individual behind those statistics: the students, their parents and the great staff.

Russ Lawrance Principal, said,

“We are thrilled with the outstanding success of our students A-level & BTEC results. At Haringey Sixth Form College, students study in a way that enables them to reach their potential, be that A-level or BTEC; they are both of equal value. What is important is that the students are successful, as we have seen this morning.

“It has been a busy morning and we are pleased to see so many of our students achieving their expected places – not only at Russell Group Universities but at a wide range of other universities. The students have achieved their goals securing places of their choice at the university of their choice. For the staff, these results demonstrate that this college is continuously providing high quality education to students in the Haringey and North London area. Our students feel challenged and supported to achieve their very best. We know that students make more progress here from their starting points.”

The college has seen student numbers grow by over a third in the last two years. A-level entries alone have trebled this year. The trend is likely to continue again this year with increased applications across the board.

Russ continued,

“As the College Principal, I am pleased these results show real strength in our academic provision, reflecting the overall quality of the A-level & BTEC provision at Haringey Sixth Form College. Students and staff have worked incredibly hard over the past year and we are really proud of these results. Our A-level and BTEC students now leave us for the next exciting chapter in their lives, as they take up their places at university, employment, or begin their gap year. The staff here wish them well. We have again achieved our recruitment targets and first year A-level or BTEC students have laid excellent foundations for the coming year. I am sure they will continue to push themselves. We have upgraded our facilities over the summer, alongside investing in staffing, and so new students can be confident that with hard work and dedication they, too, can be successful at Haringey Sixth Form College. Some of our students were able to overcome really challenging personal circumstances to achieve excellent results. This was partly due to the significant outstanding support and guidance that the we are in a way famous for now. This was given to them by the college staff and I thank them for this. Partnership works in all parts of #TeamHaringey6.

I would like to once again thank all of the staff, both the academic and professional services staff, for going the extra mile with the students, and I thank parents and carers for their continued support. The DFE Progress tables for the last two years highlight how far we take the students at our college, and this is again reflected in these results. There are some outstanding successes. However, as ever I return back to the most important people: the students; you have been amazing. Now go and continue this trend please.“

Despite the national variability due to the changes to A-level, we are delighted with our excellent results, but we never stand still here at #H6.
