Lookers division swings into action in aid of Children in Need

Motor retailer Lookers has hit another hole in one for Children in Need at one of its annual golf days as it looks to raise Ā£600,000 for the charity.

The golf day was organised by the Lookers Nissan Renault division and saw 76 of its staff, suppliers and customers compete at Mercure Newcastle George Washington Hotel Golf and Spa in Washington.

The 4th annual event, which was won by Enterprise Rent a Car, raised a total of Ā£2,114 on the day, adding to the funds raised by Lookers since last year.

Enterprise Rent A Car won the day with 100 points, with each team member winning a superb trophy each and Ā£100 in vouchers for the golf shop.

The best individual score went to Paul Tarn, Business Manager at Lookers Nissan Gateshead, with 46 points, who took away the event trophy and the grand prize of a Ping G400 driver.

Key supporters and players taking part at the event were Lookers Nissan Gateshead, Lookers Renault Newcastle, RCI, Enterprise, Renault UK, BHC, NMUK, Wilsons Auctions, the Lookers internet team and more.

The Lookers group has held several fundraising events in aid of Children in Need across its 153 dealerships, including a number of bake sales and Big Wash events, which has seen senior management getting their hands dirty and cleaning customer cars in return for donations.

Lookers has also been involved in the Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge and last year provided support vehicles along the epic 500-mile road trip from London to Glasgow.

Peter Lyall, Local Business Development Manager at Lookers Nissan Gateshead, said: ā€œThe Lookers Nissan Renault Golf Day is always a highlight of our year and gives us the opportunity to raise money for some fantastic causes. Lookers has been a major supporter of Children in Need this year and Iā€™m proud that we could play a part in working towards our group fundraising targets. Well done and a huge thank you to everyone that took part this year.ā€
