From education to employment

Unrivalled Support for @AberavonRFC and @NeathAthletic ‏from NPTC Group of Colleges

NPTC Group of Colleges have teamed up with local Principality Premiership clubs Aberavon Wizards and Neath RFC ahead of the new rugby season.

The recent changes to the Welsh club rugby structure has brought the Principality Premiership very much into focus. With the PRO 14 moving over to subscription television, the Premiership will take centre stage on the BBC, with weekly live match coverage and a Scrum V highlights programme.

The College has secured comprehensive sponsorship packages with both clubs, which include advertising boards and player sponsorship, as well as print and digital advertising.

Head of Marketing Fay Harris said:

“We are delighted to re-affirm our partnerships with two leading community rugby clubs. At NPTC Group of Colleges, we have a rich sporting heritage and, together with our local communities, we aspire to give more and more young people opportunities in sport, not just through formal education, but also through our ‘Get Active’ Health and Wellbeing programme.”

Chris Davies, Commercial and Marketing Manager at Aberavon RFC added:

“We are extremely pleased that NPTC Group of Colleges will sponsor Aberavon RFC this season. They are an integral part of the community in both Port Talbot and Neath. The College’s sports students have been helping the club in the community via the Tata Steel Wizards League, so this is very much an important relationship and a relationship that we hope will be long standing.”

Both teams currently feature a number of College alumni, including Joe Gage, Rhys Henry and Frankie Jones at Aberavon, and Tiaan Thomas-Wheeler, Reuben Morgan-Williams, and Iwan Evans at Neath.

We wish both teams good luck for what is sure to be a competitive season ahead and look forward to seeing our current students go on to represent both clubs in the future.

Llandarcy Academy of Sport (part of NPTC Group of Colleges) has previously welcomed Aberavon and Neath to train at its state-of-the-art facilities which include; an elite, national standard multi-use sports hall, climbing wall, all-weather 3G pitch, Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), strength and conditioning suite and an indoor bounding track with warm-up area.

The College offers full-time, part-time and higher education Sport and Public Services courses both in Neath/Port Talbot and Powys.
